Mathematics: Algebra 1
Algebra brings together all the Math skills learned through elementary school and opens up a new world of abstract math. This Algebra One course is divided into three modules: Pre-Algebra, First Order Equations and Second Order Equations. A student is ready for Algebra when they are confident in the following skills:
Basic operations (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, Dividing)
Fractions (Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Comparing)
Knowing how to switch between Fractions, Decimals and Percents
Calculating area and perimeter of basic shapes (Geometry)
Ability to read graphs (line, bar, pie)
Pre-Algebra is included in this course (as Module One), so is not needed as a prerequisite.
